What 100 new Solana tokens looked like in one day: our automated checks

October 31, 2026 · 3 min read · by the Rugsight team

Rugsight's new-token feed picks up recently launched Solana tokens from public trending and new-token lists every 30 minutes and runs the same automated risk check on each one. It only takes tokens with at least $5k of liquidity at discovery, so the most obvious dead launches never enter it.

Here is what one 24-hour window looked like, on October 31, 2026. It's a single snapshot, not a study: treat the numbers as a picture of one day, not a law.

The numbers

Out of 100 tokens checked in that window:

CheckResult
Mint authority still active0%
Freeze authority still active0%
Top 10 real wallets hold over 50% of supply40%
Liquidity of $50k or more at check time3%
Liquidity $10k to $50k40%
Liquidity under $10k24%
No liquidity detected at check time33%
Median Rugsight score65 / 100

Grades: B 47, C 14, D 35, F 4. No token scored an A, mostly because every token in the feed is young by definition, and youth alone costs points.

Finding 1: mint and freeze authority no longer separate good launches from bad ones

Three years ago, an active mint or freeze authority was the most common way to trap buyers on Solana. In this sample it was zero out of 100. Launchpads such as pump.fun create tokens with both authorities revoked by default, so nearly every memecoin passes these two checks automatically.

That's good news, and it's also why a "mint revoked ✓ freeze revoked ✓" badge says very little about a new memecoin today. Those checks still matter for tokens created outside the big launchpads, and for Token-2022 tokens, which can carry quieter controls such as a permanent delegate or a transfer hook.

Finding 2: the risk moved to concentration and liquidity

With authorities out of the picture, the meaningful signals were:

These aren't accusations. Thin liquidity and concentrated supply are normal for something a few hours old. But they are exactly the conditions under which a "rug" doesn't need any special permissions: the largest holders just sell.

Finding 3: most of these tokens are not search-worthy, and that's fine

Of the 100, only the 3 with meaningful liquidity get an indexable page on Rugsight. The rest stay checkable but are marked noindex. We'd rather not publish a hundred thin "is X a rug?" pages about tokens that will be gone tomorrow; the live feed is the better place to watch them.

How the checks work

Each token gets the same scoring as any mint you paste into Rugsight: points off for active authorities, risky Token-2022 extensions, wallet concentration, thin liquidity and age. The full method is in how to check a Solana token for rug-pull risk.

What the checks don't cover: bundled launches, the deployer's history, LP lock status, and anything off-chain. A B grade on a six-hour-old token means "no technical trap found yet", not "safe".
